soothe3 is oeksound’s current dynamic resonance suppressor: it finds problem resonances on the fly and reduces them automatically, only when and where needed. It is for mixing, mastering and live engineers who want to remove harshness, mud and sharp sibilance without static EQ cuts. It runs as a VST3, AU or AAX plug-in on Windows 10 to 11 and Mac OS X 10.14 to macOS 26.
What is soothe3?
soothe3 is the successor to soothe2, released in May 2026. It removes harshness from any source and cleans up muddiness, boominess and proximity effect. If you need the previous version, see oeksound soothe2.
What’s new in soothe3
- New soft mode: oeksound’s most transparent resonance suppression, with an adaptive threshold
- New hard mode: in the style of soothe2, with a fixed threshold, for more aggressive control and sidechain effects
- Low latency mode: zero samples of latency at base sample rates and about 1 ms at higher rates, for tracking and live use
- Detail: one control that combines soothe2’s sharpness and selectivity
- Nodes you can add or delete, with eight band shapes including bandpass and tilt
- Multichannel support up to 9.1.6, with control over how channel sets are linked
- Tilt controls, a max cut parameter and a linear phase mode
- A collapsible side panel for advanced settings
