FabFilter Pro-Q 4 is FabFilter’s equaliser plug-in, with up to 24 bands, dynamic EQ and spectral dynamics on every band, and linear and natural phase modes. It is for mixing and mastering engineers and producers who want precise, clean EQ, including immersive Dolby Atmos work. It runs on Windows and on macOS 10.13 or higher (Apple Silicon or Intel), inside a VST, VST3, AU, CLAP or AAX host.

What is FabFilter Pro-Q 4?

Pro-Q 4 is the current version of FabFilter’s EQ, released in December 2024 and now at version 4.13. It replaces Pro-Q 3: FabFilter lists Pro-Q 3 as a legacy plug-in, superseded by Pro-Q 4. If you are looking for FabFilter Pro-Q 3, Pro-Q 4 is the version to get today. Pro-Q 4 is also part of the FabFilter Total Bundle.

Pro-Q 4 is the current version and the one FabFilter sells today. Pro-Q 3 is a previous version: FabFilter still keeps it up to date as a legacy plug-in, but it is superseded by Pro-Q 4. Pro-Q 4 brings spectral dynamics, full immersive support, EQ Sketch, Character modes and the Instance List.
