soothe2 is the previous version of oeksound’s dynamic resonance suppressor: it analyses the incoming signal for resonances and applies matching reduction automatically. It is for mixing and mastering engineers who want to tame harshness on single tracks, busses or full mixes. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU or AAX plug-in on Windows 7 to 11 and Mac OS X 10.13 to macOS 26.
soothe2 is the previous version
oeksound’s current version is soothe3, and oeksound now lists soothe2 as legacy, with 1.3.3 as its final version. For the newest version, see oeksound soothe3. soothe2 still makes sense if you need VST2 or run Windows 7 or 8.
What does soothe2 do?
soothe2 finds resonances as they happen and reduces only those frequencies, so you do not have to chase them with a static EQ. You choose how much, how sharp and how selective the reduction is.
