iZotope Ozone 12 Advanced is the current top edition of iZotope’s mastering suite: 20 mastering modules in one plug-in, each also available as its own plug-in, with the AI-assisted Master Assistant and the new Stem EQ, Unlimiter and Bass Control. It is for producers and engineers who master in their DAW. Ozone 12 runs on Windows 10 or 11 and on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Intel and Apple silicon Macs.

What is iZotope Ozone 12?

Ozone 12 is the latest version of iZotope Ozone, released in September 2025 and now at version 12.2.0. iZotope offers it in Elements, Standard and Advanced; Advanced is the most complete.

What’s new in Ozone 12

  • Stem EQ (Advanced only): EQ the vocals, bass, drums and other parts of a stereo mix without the stems
  • Unlimiter (Advanced only): restores transients in overly compressed audio
  • Bass Control (Standard and Advanced): see, balance and shape the low end
  • Master Assistant with a new Custom Flow, plus Assistant View and Assistive Vocal Balance
  • Maximizer with the new IRC 5 limiting mode

Ozone 12 Standard vs Advanced

Standard has a smaller set of modules (no Clarity, Impact, Low End Focus, Spectral Shaper, Stem EQ or Unlimiter), with Delta buttons, Dither, Track Referencing and Transient/Sustain modes. Advanced adds those six modules, the modules as separate plug-ins, Stem Focus, Codec Preview and Relay. Elements has only the Master Assistant and Assistive Vocal Balance.

Is Ozone 12 a plug-in or a standalone app?

Ozone 12 is a plug-in in VST3, AU and AAX format (64-bit), so it runs inside a DAW or video editor. iZotope retired the standalone Ozone app with Ozone 10.

Is Ozone 12 AI mastering software?

Ozone 12 includes the AI-assisted Master Assistant, and Stem Focus uses improved neural nets to work on isolated stems of a mix. In Advanced you can still set every module by hand.
