Output Portal

Output Portal is a granular effect plug-in that turns any audio, from synths and drums to vocals and guitar, into new musical textures. It is for producers and sound designers who want movement and character from sounds they already have. It runs as a 64-bit VST, VST3, AU or AAX plug-in on Windows 10 or 11 and macOS 10.14 or higher, natively on Apple silicon.

What is Output Portal?

Portal re-synthesises incoming audio into grains and lets you reshape them. A circular XY control is linked to the granular parameters, so one move can change the whole sound. It comes with over 250 presets.

Portal on its own or in the Output FX Bundle

Portal is sold on its own, and it is also part of the Output FX Bundle with Thermal, Movement and all five FX expansion packs. The Chaos expansion for Portal, with over 100 presets, is sold separately and is not included on this page.

• Windows: Windows 10 or 11; Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent or better
• macOS: macOS 10.14 or higher; Apple M1 or better, or Intel Core i5 or better
• RAM: 8 GB, 16 GB recommended
• Disk: under 500 MB on Mac, under 150 MB on Windows
• Host: a 64-bit DAW such as FL Studio, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, GarageBand or Studio One

Output lists Adobe Audition, Audacity, Pro Tools First and Studio One Prime as not supported.
