KORG M1 V2 is the KORG M1 VST from KORG itself: a software recreation of the 1988 M1 music workstation, with its AI synthesis, effects and the sounds of the original expansion cards. It is for producers and keyboard players who want the M1’s sound inside a modern DAW or as a standalone app. It runs on Windows 11 and on macOS 12 Monterey or higher, native on Apple Silicon, as a VST3, AU or AAX plug-in.
What is the KORG M1 VST?
KORG M1 V2 reproduces the M1’s AI (Advanced Integrated) synthesis system, with the original circuitry replicated in software. V2 is the 2.x generation of KORG’s M1 software, first released in 2005, and the current version is 2.5.0. M1 is sold on its own and is also one of the 20 products in KORG Collection 6.
What’s new in M1 V2
M1 V2 has a new high-resolution interface for Retina and 4K displays, scalable in six levels. Version 2.3.0 added VST3 and native Apple Silicon support. It also adds filter resonance and VDA modulation, which the original M1 did not have.
