iZotope RX 9 Advanced

iZotope RX 9 Advanced is a previous version of iZotope’s audio repair suite, from 2021; the current version is iZotope RX 12 Advanced. It gives you a standalone spectral audio editor with over 40 repair and editing modules and nearly 20 plug-ins, for cleaning up dialogue, music and post-production audio. It runs on Windows 10 and on macOS 10.14 Mojave to macOS 13 Ventura.

iZotope RX 9 is a previous version

Its latest version is 9.4.0. RX 9 was followed by RX 10, RX 11 and the current RX 12. iZotope lists RX 9 up to macOS 13 Ventura, not macOS 14 Sonoma or later, so on a newer Mac choose RX 12.

What RX 9 brought

• Ambience Match (Advanced only, improved): generates ambient fill from complex backgrounds such as traffic, crowds or water
• Dialogue Isolate (Advanced only, improved): a new neural net separates dialogue from background noise while keeping the ambience
• De-hum Dynamic mode for hum, buzz and interference at any frequency
• Spectral Editor ARA plug-in for Logic Pro
• Expandable History list and Restore Selection, to roll a selection back to an earlier state

RX 9 Standard vs Advanced

Advanced adds multichannel processing and the modules Ambience Match, Azimuth, Center Extract, De-rustle, De-wind, Deconstruct, Dialogue Contour, Dialogue De-reverb, Dialogue Isolate, EQ Match, Leveler, Spectral Recovery and Wow & Flutter, plus the Ambience Match, De-rustle and Dialogue Isolate plug-ins.

• macOS: macOS 10.14 Mojave, 10.15 Catalina, 11 Big Sur, 12 Monterey and 13 Ventura (Ventura from 9.4.0); not macOS 14 Sonoma or later
• Apple silicon: in Rosetta from 9.0.0; native app, AU and VST3 from 9.3.0, native AAX from 9.4.0
• Formats: the standalone RX Audio Editor, plus VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-ins; on Apple silicon, VST2 and the Spectral Editor ARA in Logic Pro run in Rosetta only
